Mattisen (Matti) - Matti is a 9yr, 16.1h dk bay HolstX mare. Her sire is Cicero (Holst), a well-known mare producer, by the legendary Selle Francais stallion Cor De La Bryere. Her dam, Faye (Roquette), is a performance mare who is still actively competing and sound at the age of 22yr. Matti is strikingly beautiful and athletic, and was initially bred as a performance horse. Unfortunately, Matti was injured by one of her pasture mates as a yearling and, despite years of therapy, has never recovered from the injury. Fortunate for us Matti is an incredible producer! She has been bred twice to Holsteiner Stallions, Ariadus and Camiros, both times producing exceptional fillies. Her 2003 daughter Tribeca by Camiros has been placed back into our broodmare herd and we are looking forward to breeding her in 2009. Her 2001 daughter Replika by Ariadus was being actively trained for dressage when she was lost during colic surgery in 2005. Replika was maturing well over 17h and had international quality movement and talent for fence-work. In 2005 we bred Matti to an Andalusian stallion, Regaliz, thinking that the Iberian cross would produce a super dressage horse in a smaller package. Matti gave birth to an incredible colt in 2006, Revoltoso. This cross exceeded all of our expectations and Matti will be bred back to Regaliz early in 2008. |
