TJ Equine is proud to announce the completion of its new 14 stall barn^** and laboratory. Most stalls have 16'x12' or 16'x16' paddocks that are graded with footing and have 6' heavy welded wire panels. We also have four 12'x 24' stalls in our mare motel. All stalls in the main barn are matted, have individual timed lights, and automatic 2.5 gallon waterers. Two stalls have swing partitions to convert four 12'x12' stalls into two 12'x24' stalls. When the sweltering summer heat comes to the Sacramento valley, we offer our equine friends fans in their stalls. The main barn includes a large (36'x40') open work area which houses institutional breeding stocks and adjoins the separate laboratory (16'x12'). In addition, the main barn is also equipped with individual tack, grain and wash areas. The facilities also boasts a new 210' x 80' indoor arena^** with lights and Fibar footing, and a new 70' round pen arena enclosed with 12'x6' heavy welded wire panels which provide a safe working environment for the horses. 

Horse stalls are bedded with shavings or Premium Barn Dry pellets depending on the time of year. Stalls are cleaned twice daily, 6 days a week and horses are fed orchard or rye grass hay twice daily with Stable Mix^TM pellets (Elk Grove Milling, Inc.). Alfalfa and oat hay are available, additional afternoon feeding available - please see fee schedule.

The facility also has multiple irrigated grass turn outs enclosed with 5' or 6' tall non-climb and ElectroBraid^TM, and automatic 40 gallon water troughs. Horses are turned-out individually with a buddy in the neighboring pasture, weather permitting.

Even though horses are beautiful animals, their innate flight response under foreign/stressful situations makes them unpredictable and potentially dangerous to themselves and to others around them. To minimize the risk of injury to horses and handlers, the main barn has a 16' wide center aisle and a large outside area for loading and unloading horses. In addition, the barn is surrounded by a 16' to 25' wide gravel road to provide our customers convenient truck and trailer access when dropping off and picking up horses. The main barn and surrounding roads are fully enclosed by 5' non-climb fencing and gates, and for added security the entire facility is enclosed by an additional 5' non-climb fence with locking gates.
